How do I know if I need to bypass OBC?

Some Club Car models require modifying your golf cart to bypass the OBC (On Board Computer) for an after market charger to function.
The models are as the follows:

MFG. Year           Model Modification          Required
1995-2010           48V Club Car DS                  Requires OBC Bypass Modification
2004-2014           48V Club Car Precedent      Requires OBC Bypass Modification
2015-Present       48V Club Car Precedent      Don't require OBC Bypass Modification

How to Bypass OBC:
You just need to connect the black wire from the negative terminal of this battery to where the black wire attaches to the back of the receptacle(charging socket).

Here is a video guide of bypassing the OBC for Club Car Precedent DS:

How to know the manufacture year of your Club Car golf cart?

Club Car golf carts manufactured after 1981 have the serial numbers marked under the glove box on the passengers side of the vehicle. The first two numbers will indicate manufacture year.

For examples:

If the first three digits of the serial number are “A00”, the golf cart is a 2000 Club Car DS.
If the first four digits of the serial number are “PG09”, the golf cart is a 2009 Club Car Precedent.

Q: How to choose the right charger?
A: Confirm the voltage, battery capacity and plug type of the golf cart.

Q: Can this be used with club carts with no on board computers?
A: This charger can be used on club car without on board computers or the on board computers need to be bypassed

How do I know if the battery charger fit my golf cart?

1. Check the voltage of your golf cart. 48 Volt charger can charge 48 Volt golf cart.  36 Volt charger can charge 36 Volt golf cart.
2. Verify that the receptacle of your golf cart is a 3-pin round plug.
3. If your golf cart is Club Car DS (Year of manufacture 1995-2010 ) or Club Car Precedent (Year of manufacture 2004-2014 ), you must bypass the OBC (on board computer)before using the golf cart charger. It is easy if you follow our instruction.

If your golf cart is Club Car Precedent was manufactured from 2015 to now, don't need to bypass the OBC.
